Mr. Leverett is the President of Energy Economics Consulting Corporation (“EECC”) overseeing all operational and strategic aspects of the firm. EECC specializes in power industry economic analysis, focusing on wholesale power supply consulting, retail rate analysis and power plant development.

Mr. Leverett’s career has been focused on economic analysis and development in the power industry. In his 15 year career, he has held a number of positions that have given him notable experience in each of the major functional areas of the power industry; generation, transmission and distribution. He has worked with a wide variety of participants in the power industry, including investor-owned utilities, independent power producers, power marketers, renewable technology developers, cooperatives, and municipalities. Each position has added to his depth of understanding of the regulatory environment and market economics of the power industry. His broad base of experience and depth of understanding make him uniquely qualified to lead EECC.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Leverett was with Mirant for four years, where he held positions as Market Analysis Manager, Asset Manager and Project Director. In these roles, he analyzed wholesale market fundamentals, managed contractual commitments of approximately $1.5 billion, implemented asset dispatch optimization strategies, and developed nearly 1,100 MWs of new generation.

Prior to that, he was employed with Southern Engineering Company as a Senior Project Manager. During this time, he specialized in retail and wholesale rate design and analysis, including cost-of-service and rate studies, retail and wholesale rate design, and power supply planning and analysis. He also served as an expert witness on rate design issues before multiple state regulatory commissions.

Mr. Leverett received an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia with specialization in finance, strategic management and managerial economics. Additionally, he obtained a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a certificate in accounting and technical & business communications.

Mr. Leverett is a member of the Society of Utility Regulatory and Financial Analyst (SURFA) and is a Certified Rate of Return Analyst (CRRA).
